PETA.....( PEOPLE FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS) . I know I crazy late on this story but my WI-FI situation is holding me back. Oh well....... I was reading and article about how Lindsay Lohan was publicly abused by a PETA are anti-fur activist, her reason was because of a fur jacket the actress rocked at a nightclub in Paris..... I Know that people have things they stand for 100% but, in my opinion that kind or derogatory act should not have gone unpunished. I have never in my life heard of a charity organization that would ask for money to support there cause would do something so rude and disrespectful . What ever happened to the ETHICAL TREATMENT OF HUMANS. I love animals as much if not more then the next man but porkchopssooooo good. I wonder if Lindsay Lohan showed up at the PETA headquarter wearing a fur stole, leather pants , crocodile shoes , a peacock feather in her hair and handed them a million dollars , would they take the money or would it be considered tainted. I'm sure they stand up for so much more, but you would never know. Violence is never the answer.

BLACK SHEEP STATUS

BLACK SHEEP STATUS

Today is Thanksgiving; I’m blogging on my Microsoft Word again because I don’t want to be rude or antisocial and go to get my daily WI-FI fix. The holidays in my house are always a major event. My parents make a huge production with all the fixings I love when they cook I swear I put on 15 pounds just look at the turkey and dressing. I’m really never around for the holiday because I was a retail slave for soooo long. So much has changed in the 10 yrs that I’ve been away from home. I’ve always know I was a little different, I definitely march to my own beat, but this holiday I think everything really took the cake. I’ve never felt so out of place in my life. When I hear my parents talk about my other sibling I hear the swoon of love and pride in their voice. I use to hear this also when I was spoken of but since I’ve been here I feel ignored, and isolated by my family. I think it is because of this transition period I have made in my life. My bed wasn’t even cleaned off when I got here. I don’t even have a place for my clothes. People have been saying just the most off the wall things about me and they think I’m doing drugs or selling ass one or the other even though I have told them time and time again I just need a break then they wonder why I don’t tell them anything and I’m always alone I hear them whisper when they think I’m not listening……. I have BIG DREAMS, I dream to work for a non-profit or open a consignment shop, eBay sell, read great books, travel, and volunteer and fundraise, have tea parties, but you can’t do that without any money. I guess when I first set out on this mission I thought my family would be behind me 100% and to me honestly that is not the case…… I am crying now!!......... I just need them to let me do what I need to do. My family not horrible I think they just really don’t understand. Now I have dubbed my self the BLACK SHEEP. I’ll let you know if anything changes.

Thanks for listening….

RECYCLE , REDUCE, REUSE

Words to live by when it come to making the world green and reducing your carbon footprint. Today I'm not talking about saving the world , I'm talking about saving your money. I enjoy thinking of new ways to stretch the almighty dollar . Single life can be filled with unnecessary spending habits. We buy a new outfit every time we go out, spend money on trips and eating out, we don't look for sales and don't take the time to clip coupons and plan meals so we don't over spend at the posh grocery store we frequent. Following a well thought out budget and making great money choices now will help you in the long run.... Here my strategy....

REDUCE the amount of times you eat out. I have a very dear friend (I WON'T OUT HER.... SHAY!!!) that I enjoy eating with. We like to go to new spots in the city and literally forget our supposed diets. We can spend about 20-30 dollars at the most eating out ,and that can add up. ( 200 dollars a month ) . If you enjoy eating out as much as I do cut somewhere else. Take you lunch to work . Fastfood is bad for you anyway so make a list of favorite lunch foods (i.e roast beef sandwiches, tunafish and crackers, even soft tacos) . Write down all your favs and make them apart of your grocery list. Also because you should be cooking more then eating out anyway save your leftover in a travel size tupperware so you can reheat it for you lunch.
Total savings 170 per month just on eating lunch out during the work week.

RECYCLE your old clothes. Have you heard the old saying , one mans trash is another mans treasure. Twice a year I go on a CLEAN MY CLOSET expedition. Make it a team effort so you'll enjoy doing it. First take your unwanted clothes to your local consignment shop. While you wait see if there is any FABULOUS find in the store.( some stores give you a discount or credit toward your purchase if they use any of you things. Once finished take all the leftovers and donate them to the local salvation army or Goodwill they will give you a receipt and you can write it off on your taxes. Remember unwanted clothes do not go back in the closet.
Total savings depends on what clothes you have but it is so worth it

REDUCE the amount of time in your car. I'm very fortunate I live close to a train station so I park and ride. I can get so much done on the train. For instance I took the train to pay my power bill ( it was only 45 dollars) , Go to the grocery store and the bank, Go to the movies and shopping, have a quick bite with friends, grab some gifts for my mom and even take a walk in 5 points. It only cost me 4 dollars where that could have easily been 1 tank of gas . I was able to read and relax on the train. I didn't worry about parking fees either.
Total saving 100 dollars a month.

REUSE your grocery list. I have on my fridge a list of what I call food staples. I went to Wal-Mart one day and I bought only necessities , meats, pasta, bread , cheese, etc. I spent about 50 on just food staples. My shopping budget a month is 100-120 dollars depending on the economy and what I can catch on sale or with coupons. Because I start cooking more to save on the cost of eating out I have a list of rules. 1) I but generic items when ever possible. generic peanut butter taste the same as the peanut butter you pay for with the fancy packaging. You may only save pennies but ,it adds up . 2)Coupon city...... I clip them and I get that from my mother. Also you can find some good ones online if all you need is some patience and a printer. 3). Don't buy snack food if you can make your own. (muffin mix is so much cheaper them in the package . Go online to find good snack recipes and you can add them to you shopping list. 4) Don't buy bottled water . Invest in a water filter and a washable container to keep your water in. You'll save loads. 5) plan your meals ahead ,it will reduce the amount of trips to the grocery store, and eating out.

QUICK TIP!! Alot of grocery stores and drug store offer savings card they are miracle workers . KROGER AND CVS are 2 of my favorites.

So there you go , these are just to easy not to do ,all it take is planning and a little will power. You'll thank me later.

MAKING YOUR SMALL SPACE WORK 2

Usually when it comes to apartment living functionality is most important. We use are apartment as a drop for clothes, a place to grab a quick bite or, sleep. At this point in our single lives buying a house is not an option but that is no excuse to not make your apartment just as homely and inviting as your would a house. I'm always looking online or in Domino magazine for ways to make my small space more inviting instead of embarrassing...Here's what I found..

1) Paint . sometimes you can't paint the wall but if you can I would advise that you do. Paint can say alot without saying anything at all. Stick with light color so that you space appears bigger....Or if you want to do that chocolate brown or deep red make sure to have alot of lighting and light colored furniture for a perfect contrast (i.e. chocolate brown walls ,cream sofa) If you are on a budget , go to the local paint shop and ask for mistake mixes. (WHAT!!) If the color isn't right for someone else it maybe right for you and they sell these at a discounted rate. Paint my friend is the cheapest way to change you space.

2)Personalizing your space... Besides painting the walls , adding in some kinds of interesting touches can speak volumes. Collectors items , mirrors, artwork. I don't have an artistic bone in my body so I usually phone a friend.lol. There are so many art shows and art fairs around town that finding art work or crafts that are interesting. can be achieved. tap into some local talent most local artist are trying to get their artwork out there so they tend to sell it on the cheap . Grab a few pieces that speak to you and you'll always have a conversation piece. Figure out what your style is are you more modern, traditional, or contemporary pick a theme and run with it . Mixing to much can overwhelm your space and the whole thing just looks like a garage sale. Go thrifting, Good Will and the Salvation army are know for FABULOUS finds if you are determined to look . Or you can do like me , I LIVE IN IKEA.....

QUICK TIP!!! Mirror are great in making you space feel large and in charge. A big mirror on a focal wall can look like another room.

3) Textiles... This can include rugs, bed linens and curtains.... Most apts come with blinds so we forget curtains. I have a duvet with a wild pattern on it so i went for curtains with one color. Make it extra cozy by adding a ton of pillows. You can do the same in you living room. Take a ordinary sofa and love seat and make it cozy with some throw pillows. Throw rugs are great in high traffic areas or under tables and shouldn't over power the room with wild and crazy patterns.

4) Furniture... SMALL SCALE = HUGE IMPACT. This is why stores like Ikea and Target are soooo popular when it comes to apt living . A chair without arms is a better pick then one with when it comes to apartment living. Limit your furniture choices and don't pick furniture that will hog up your square footage. Also try adding glass or Lucite pieces they mix well with anything and won't overwhelm your space.
Quick tip!!! LIGHTS, LIGHTS and MORE LIGHTS.

Designing an apartment space takes time and effort but it's worth it if you want to make it home...

MY ECONOMIC BAILOUT PLAN.

Hey reader, are you still keeping up …………… I’m absolutely about to go insane. My entire routine is out of whack…. I’m been here for two days and it feels like 30. Ok so for you that don’t know I’m on sabbatical. I decided to move back home for some mental regrouping, save some money and log in some volunteer hours. Well all I can think about is that I have no internet (yet), my mom is already nagging me about my stinky socks, and my poor little pooch is in the garage. I don’t know, it all sounded good on paper but I know that if I were in Atlanta, I would either be at Solstice, the Standard or playing Halo with Oswald. I’m literally reduced to blogging on my Microsoft word instead of online. (I’m going to cut and paste later.) . My head is so full of thoughts that I had to figure a way to vent…. I’m going to be posting about how I’m doing back home as well as my regular posts… Hopefully I won’t go crazy before time. I just decided today that my initial savings goal that I’d decided on before I move back … ok no … I have to get out of here asap unless my mother lightens up. I think because I’ve been living on my own for 10 years has just made me so set in my ways. I’m just gonna have to tell her and that’s that, I will tomorrow….

Thanks for listening…

GREAT NEW WEBSITE... and article...

I've found an awesome new website today.... Here's what happened , I was laying in bed reading December COSMO and I cam across an article, 5 Health Issues that Hit Young Women. Hallie Levine Sklar the author writes, As a group, young women are generally healthy. That's good but there is a downside ..... According to medical experts , Cosmo spoke to young women these days are becoming lax about their health and taking potential dangerous risks.... The article reads on to explain what they mean.... When I first saw the article I immediately thought that they were going to talk about cancer, diabetes, and obesity but, no . Here's the run down of the top 5
Intense crippling Stress
Out -of Whack eating habits
Birth Control laziness
Near Epidemic STD rates
Depression.
The article is great and I would advise you to pick up a copy but there were 1 or 2 things that stood out to me the most. Intense Crippling Stress and out of whack eating habits.....

Out of whack eating habits , the article spoke of a new kind of eating disorder called disordered eating. It goes to say , some disordered eaters cut entire food groups out of their diet. The article gives an example or a typical 20-30 some things diet and calorie intake.
Breakfast: 2 lattes and a bagel with cream cheese 660 calories
Lunch : grilled chicken salad with dressing 350 calories
Dinner: 3 Cosmos and a bowl of cocktail nuts
Total calories 1890 WOW. A young women should take in about 1800 calories but not this way....
Most of the time we as young women don't make time to eat and that in my opinion can be caused by the other health issue among young women. Crippling Stress.
Here's my solution to this, Sometimes you can't help how demanding you job can be . Have an outlet (mine is blogging lol) , make time for you friends , walk you dog or take 20 min. to play with it. Whatever makes you happy. If you find you don't have time to grab a bite to eat during you work week , number 1 wake up an extra 30 min to have breakfast. I have a power breakfast that I live by. 2 hardboiled eggs, half an apple, and a mini whole grain bagel with cream cheese. At work keep in you desk a tin of nuts , cheese, or fruit that you can snack on if you miss you lunch or up until you lunch then you won't have an excuse. When your off work pass by all fast food restaurants they can grab you pockets even if they do have a healthy menu. Get your girl friends involved , cook for each other once or twice a week or plan your meals before you grocery shop. This will decrease you spending by leap and bound so you'll have time for 1 Cosmo on Saturday night.....lol
Thanks for listening.
Oh here goes the website I found. tiphero.com there was an article called 20 healthy food under $1....

RECIPE OF THE DAY!!!

I absolutely love pasta . I've found a great recipe on my favorite website marthastewart.com that I will be making tonight .I think I will have may friends join me for this one. The great thing about pasta is you can have most if not all of the basic food groups in it. Because of my new diet ( NO NOT TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT) I have to eat as healthy as possible. This recipe only take 20 min to whip up so here goes.
Ingredients
Serves 4
Salt and pepper
12 ounces fettuccine pasta ( The ounces are on the package)
1 cup reserved Lemon Sauce, see Roasted Chicken with Lemon Sauce
1 package (10 ounces) frozen peas, thawed (Cost $2)
1 reserved cooked chicken half, from Roasted Chicken recipe above, skin removed, meat shredded (1 1/2 cups) ( You can get this at any food stores deli)
1 tablespoon cold butter
1/3 cup grated Asiago or Parmesan cheese, plus more for garnish, if desired

Directions
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook fettuccine until al dente, according to package instructions. Drain; set aside.
Add lemon sauce to pot. Bring to a boil; reduce to a simmer. Add peas and chicken; cook until warmed through, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in butter until incorporated.
Remove from heat. Add pasta and cheese; season with salt and pepper. Toss to combine. Garnish with more cheese, if desired.

Grab a package of salad while you are out and french bread and you are all set . this meal should only cost about 10-12 dollars depending on where you food shop.

The cost of 4 friends eating out would cost about 76 dollars . That's a 12 dollar entree and 1 drink. When you add in gas to get there, tip for the server and parking in most cases the cost can escalate to about 90 dollars and that's just being cheap. If your friends have different taste you can have other meat or pasta options. For example shrimp at the grocery store cost about 7 dollars for 100 shrimp and you can grab a jar of Alfredo, Parmesan sauce or pesto to capture those different taste buds. So there you go have a pasta dinner before you go out on the town and you can save loads of cash . You won't feel guilty when you get your bar tab later.
Oh before I forget here goes the Lemon sauce recipe
Ingredients
Makes approximately 3 1/4 cups
2 cups fresh lemon juice
1 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon red-wine vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
Place all ingredients in a large bowl, and whisk together until well blended. Cover, and refrigerate until ready to use. Whisk or shake vigorously just before use.

GET INVOLVED

As I've said before CHARITY WORK is a big part of my life. I've been working very hard on getting members to join my non-profit group , I think when great minds get together for the same cause we can accomplish big things. Even though this has been a struggle for me I still make time to help my community. This year I've decided to work with the Atlanta children Shelter. I went to their website today to see what my project would be this year. On their website they've listed a page of needs under the volunteering page. Here it goes http://www.atlantachildrensshelter.com/volunteer_ops.html. The top project on my list is Toiletry shoebox, they need 100 each year and they hand them out as needed. I plan to rally the troops to donate a box or two because I can't do it all alone. Like I always say use your talents for good and support your community. The web is a great tool to help you coordinate events to help a good cause. Have it as a theme for this years Holiday party . Through these tough economic times everyone feels the burn especially the homeless and hungry. Clean your karma and give back.

MICHELLE OBAMA GETS A STYLE BOOK!!!!

According to nymag.com Michelle Obama is getting a style book. I'M SO EXCITED
The style book due next spring will be witten by former Mademoiselle editor Mandi Norwood . "Not since Jackie O have we had a first lady become a fashion icon," she notes. It's unclear what the book will be like, but we're hoping it's something like the Sex and the City movie book, which includes a guide to every outfit worn in the movie. Ever since Michelle Obama has coming into the spotlight she has been turning had with her stunning smile and great fashion sense. ( SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO SPEND 150,000 to do so) mmmm hmm. . As i read other blogs and news articles there are very mixed reviews. Definitely every one is entitled to their opinion but the new style book is number 1 on my list. Besides this style book i'm looking to see what Mrs. Obama will do as she gracefully enters her role as First Lady. I'm hoping that the outcome of this young family will live up to the many challenges that generally face first families , but for now this style book will be on my coffee table.

PARTY TIME!!!

As I've said before ,i love love love to entertain, and since I don't live close to my family to celebrate during the holiday's I tend to have a simple intimate get together with all of my close friend.( THAT'S REALLY NOT ALOT OF PEOPLE)lol. Last year I cooked a big dinner and had about 6 guest over. It was hard work. I did most of the cooking and between working and all that jazz I forgot some very key elements to the party ( entertainment , wine, and dessert)ouch. Well this year I've decided to keep it simple. Here goes my fool proof plan to pull off a great party without all the DRAMA.
1) My first task is to get invitations out . My apt only fits about 8 people comfortably. Phone calls and text messages were cool but it not very personal. This year I have all of my guests email addresses so I'm sending out evites . I found this email that allows me to send free invitations. Some of my options are to send an ecard with a personalized video, picture or just the date. time ,location option. Cost= 0$

2) Figure out your specifics. Menu, beverages, entertainment, and decorations. I decided not to do the traditional Thanksgiving dinner. I decided on a lighter option.
Veggie platter
Pizza Pinwheels
Pasta salad
Cheese balls with different cracker options.
Deviled eggs
Meatball sliders
Homemade cookies and Brownies.
Easy enough, this should all cost between 50-75 dollars . This is the heaviest part of my preparation and the most important. You could probably cut the cost if you shop smart and use you single girl coupons.
As far a beverages go you can do one of two things . have a signature drink , somthing that's easy to make like Sangria or make up something special. Or you can make it BYOB , have your guest bring their favorite bottle of wine. The Sangria will cost about 15 dollars to make. BYOB =0$

3) Entertainment is not that hard. First of all invite the friends that you know have great convo. Make sure your have a great personality mix. My friends and I love music , movies and games. You can do all three is you designate a time for each. Have music playing with an up beat playlist as guest are coming in and eating people usually have alot to talk about when they first get there. After dinner have a few games. I found some great party games online or you can definitely break out the UNO or pictunary. I went to my local Salvation Army and Goodwill and found games for the cheap and all the pieces were there. COST 1-5 dollars. Lastly throw on a movie usually by this time guest could possibly be in a munchie mood and you probably have some party stragglers pop in a bag of popcorn and serve your guest tea or coffee.

4) decorations : I know everyone has a dollar store and a target in your area. You can be so creative with just a little bit. Target has a 1 dollar section with tons of festive goodies and great ideas for goody bags at the end or the night. This year I found little martini shakers in various colors .I'm filling those with a mini bottle of liquor and my favorite candy. HERSHEY KISSES.
Alot can be accomplished with a little prepartion and keeping you eye open . If you find some good things on sale because you can always use those for next year. Remember, get a friends help, have a FABULOUS outfit no matter the cost and, KISS( keep it simple sexy.
HAVE FUN!!
WHAT ARE YOUR PARTY PLANS THIS YEAR. AND HOW DO YOU SAVE TIME AND MONEY TO THROW A GREAT PARTY . COMMENT !!

I FOUND A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH!!!

Today I had to do a favor for a friend. I ended up in BANKHEAD of all places. I was extremely hungry and not knowing the area I got in my car and drove.....and drove .....and drove...... I ended up at this place called SOULE'. I didn't know what it was but I was sooooo hungry I had to stop to grab a bite. Parked , went in , and I was welcomed by a man sitting behind the bar. (OK ROSILEN NO DRINKING BEFORE 5) Anyway. After looking over their menu and the lunch special ,I decided on the tilapia with two sides, macaroni and cheese and squash YUMMO. Mr. Ross, I later found was the owner ,manager, and head chef, a man of many hats I like that. he chatted with me for a bit let me sample some of his side items even the special for the day . I was in hog heaven. Being a girl with roots in the south and Soul FoOd is definitely at the top of my list of favorite food styles. I had a great meal cause I went straight to sleep after. Another absolutely FABULOUS thing about this place and something that is definitely blog worthy is that they give back to the community . At least once a month they have free meals for the homeless, clothing drives during the holidays and gather the local businesses to give back as well . I over heard him talking to some local barber shops about giving free hair cuts to the homeless. HOW AWESOME.....!!! I love when people use their talents for good and Mr. Ross does just that. He left me with a great quote " We do this to get crime off the streets , If we don't help our community who will." LOVE it.... I will always eat at this place . I have to help those who help others. Click on the link to check it out.http://www.souleatl.com/ I know it's a bit of a stretch to get there but totally worth it.

JUST WANNA SAY DUDE!!

ALL MY SINGLE LADIES!!!

I think I'm probably the most single out of all of my friends. I absolutely HATE HATE HATE dating. All of the work it takes , DRAMA. Well i think it's fun to get all of the "HOW TO ATTRACT A MAN TIPS" Complete BULLSHIT here goes the latest , tell me what you think.

Dating tip #1: Go out in groups of no bigger than three. Larger groups of girls are supertough (read: intimidating) to approach. Three is a good number because your two friends can keep each other company when a guy walks up to chat with you.

Dating tip #3: Smile genuinely. So obvious, right? But I can't stress it enough -- and I can't believe I ever acted aloof in an attempt to seem more cool. Now I know that women smile all the time naturally (when we're nervous, when we're trying to be polite, etc.), so if you don't do it at all, you look unapproachable.

Dating tip #4: Work the eye contact. To reel him in from across the room, tilt your chin down a bit and flash him a couple of sultry glances. (Guys love it when you look up at them -- it makes them feel manly.) If the guy across the room is so gorgeous you have a hard time looking straight at him and are simply too nervous, fake it by focusing on the tiny area right between his eyes. He won't be able to tell the difference.

Dating tip #5: Don't immediately ask him what he does. Some men think all women are gold diggers. A lot of my clients hated being asked what their job is. It's that fear-of-being-used thing again.

Dating tip #6: Make positive small talk. Once I started studying other women, I couldn't believe how negative some of us appear. When you're out on the town, you're supposed to be having fun, and any complaint ("It's hot in here!"), pessimism ("There will definitely be another terrorist attack"), or snarky quip ("Look at that chick's belt -- so 2002!") pretty much pokes a hole in the fun-girl aura you should be projecting. Some better small-talk topics: recent vacations, favorite bands, hilarious movies. You can hit him with your deep, dark world-view some other time.

I can honestly say I have tried all of these things. NONE have worked for me maybe you my readers can help. What am i doing wrong.

Just wanna say.

CARAMEL TEA IS SOOOO GOOD. YUMMY........

LITTLE BLACK DRESSOLOGY

Oswald and have this thing I play HALO 3 with him and he reads magazines with me. I decided to do a little experiment on him, ELLE had a great artical for NOVEMBER , "What's you little black dress personality" . I had him choose which style of LBD he liked. They gave 5 examples, retro, edgy, romantic, sophisticated, sexy. I wanted an average man's opinion on the style they liked (AVERAGE= HOTTIE there you go O) ANYWAY. he chose edgy and sophisticated two totally opposite styles. That just goes to show how men like their variety. I love the classic retro style LBD or the sexy ones. Here go a few LDB's that I thought were interesting tell me what you think.

Beyonce in a futuristic LBD at the Europe music awards, It's really edgy but I don't know about the hand gear. Heidi Klum looked FABULOUS in this Kaufman Franco LBD.

Ok so finally this is the LBD I chose for NEW YEARS what do you think.
Give me you best version of the perfect LBD.

EMPTY SEX CALORIES!!!!

Empty calories describes food thats high in calories but low in nutritional value according to healthcastle .com. These food include junk food ( fast food ,chips, and anything deep fried), sweets( candy , soda, cookies), and beer. When I'm in restaurants at the grocery store or even just on t.v. we are warned against the dangers of empty calories and the effect they can have on you physically.

Well, I'm here to warn you about another type of empty calorie. EMPTY SEX CALORIES. What are "empty sex calories " you ask . They can be described (by me) as sex that may be high in pleasure but low in emotional value. WE ALL HAVE HAD THEM . One night stands , dead end relationships , and booty calls are stocked full of these calories .YUMMY. We as women love them they do the same thing to us as the empty calories we get from those food we love . FRENCH FRIES = OSWALD. lol (Just kidding). These empty sex calories settle in places that can be hard to get rid of. How do we avoid these EMPTY SEX CALORIES. I know it maybe hard to stop cold turkey but you can definitely take baby steps. Just say no to those late night phone calls STOP ANSWERING THE PHONE, put it on silent after 12 or just turn it off completely. Take off those beer goggles , take a trust worthy girlfriend out with you to just help you say NO!!!( THANKS SHALONDA) and finally get rid of all the dirty birds in you life. DELETE DELETE DELETE. Clean house it's ok to be a bitch sometimes that will help you weed out the bad ones .I always say if he doesn't come correct he doesn't cum at all . YOU GO GIRL!!! i know you can do it, let's show these men they do not have a hold on us. If you like those empty sex calories that's cool. If you can handle it go for it . I'm looking for a healthy relationship with lots of perks .

thanks for listening.

just sayin''

I added some new blog sites check them out.

WHEN THE BIG CITY EATS YOU ALIVE

Atlanta..... Since I was young I've always wanted to live here. I used to tell my mom that when I grow up I want to live under the big Ferris wheel(six flags) lol . I've been alot of places because my father was in the military. I moved here in 2005. I had a great job that love I had a apartment in a nice area and I met friends pretty quickly. I was dating and hanging out , dinner movies the whole nine. I spent money like crazy, new clothes , going out , and just general living. I've never had any regrets about the choices I've made in my life but when i look at the way I changed when I got here I doubt my decisions. I really feel like I was engulfed by this city.. My parents weren't happy about me moving here but I did it anyway . Did they know something about me that I didn't . Should I have listened to there warning. Growing up many things were taken care of for me that I never had to worry about, paying bills, doing laundry, even just making well thought out life choices. I did really crazy things like spend my money to go out to one of the many parties that bombarded my email on a daily basis instead of doing adult things like pay bills. I saw it all , I saw girls lose themselves to become the it girls who dated the hottest guys had a nice car and was invited to every party with V.I.P. status .I was one of them. Yes i regret not focusing on the task at hand and if I can change the way the city began to eat me alive I would do sooooooo many things differently. I can say at this point while i sit here to blog about this I have definitely changed. I look at how I was influenced by city life I was never in the lime light or on of the popular girl , but that was all by choice. Atlanta has many great qualities. It's a very progressive city and has lots to offer. I came here at a time when I thought that I knew myself but I realize I didn't know my adult self. I let the city make my decisions for me .I didn't trust how smart I was and let men and so called friends develop my life style for me. So here goes my warning , if you reading this blog and you are making a decision to move here make sure you have a plan . A successful plan that help you deal with all the inconsistencies in life . Make sure to keep your family really close to you . They will keep you on level ground and surround yourself with friends that have your back no matter what( thanks SHALONDA) .Lastly keep God in your life or whatever you believe in to keep your spirit in tack. I love this city but I have to let her go for a bit. I don't want to say goodbye so I'll say see you later.
thanks for listening.

LOVIN' THIS...

Nicole Richie is on of a kind . She has her own style and can definitely be considered a trend setter. I think that because stars have there own style that can eventually design and have their own brand. Some stars are just that , STARS and out their stamp on things , and I'm like OK will they even wear that. Most of the time , NOPE but stars like Nicole Richie, Sara Jessica Parker, and Mary Kate/Ashley Olsen who set their own trends and march to the beat of their own drum I get excited. Back to the task at had . Nicole Richie has a new jewelry line out called House of Harlow 1960( named after hare beautiful daughter Harlow) this line has some great pieces at a very reasonable price . Check it out.

Beautiful huh, well if you aren't a fan at least this picture is beautiful. You can find Ms. Richie's jewelry at shopkitson.com.

MAKING YOUR SMALL SPACE WORK.

I have a tiny apt. It's a one bedroom converted basement with a separate entrance in the heart of Grant Park. I absolute love it,even though the house is old and I have a slumlord. I have alot of things, OK mostly clothes and such but it can tend to get kind of cramped. So I went on a mission I wanted to scale down my space to that i would have a lovely interesting place with lots of interesting things. I took on this task at hand on a Saturday. Oswald had a friend in town for the weekend and I knew that I wanted to have them over for dinner. I took on the hardest part of the apt MY BEDROOM . I had clothes everywhere. My first tip to simplify you small space is 1) start with the hardest thing and then move to the easiest. I went through my closet and went ape shit . I threw out so many clothes I scaled my closet down to like half I bagged them up and took it all to the salvation army. ( I GIVE AND GIVE). So i got the bed room finished closet...check....fresh sheets......check.......vacuum check..... accesories, ohhhh no to much. Surprise, on my way out I stopped by the Ikea and grabbed some cute containers and push pins . I put the earrings and bracelets in the container and pinned the necklaces to the wall. FAB. These were only 1.99 at ikea.com

Next, I move to my kitchen. After the general scrub I pulled out something else i found at Ikea. I get these emails from MarthaStewart.com and they have some great organization ideas . I have a set of glasses for every type of dring you can name . Most glasses aren't stakable but I grabbed this tray to make more room.

This is what it looks like...

Another tip of mine when it comes to working out hat small space of your , 2) it's the 3 S's , STORAGE , SHELVING, STACKING. One really great idea I pickes up has to do with all of my grocery bags. I usually carry my own bag when I picking up small things at the grocery store but if I'm doing some major grocery shopping I welcome the bags. I have a tissue box cover that i stuff all the bags in. I have a dog so I don't like to buy those expensive doggy pickup bags. I have totally conquered the small space woes. KEEP IT SIMPLE SEXY (kiss).

DIRTY BIRDS AND THE WOMEN THAT LOVE THEM!!!

What is a dirty bird, A dirty bird in so many words is a BAD BOY .We know who they are . MR CHARMING , MR. SWEET ( SOMETIMES) MR. YOU ARE MY ONE AND ONLY,MR. FLIRTS TO MUCH, MR. WRONG. I'm sure there is not one women out there who has not dealt with one of these. Approaches you out of the blue, takes you out a couple of times makes you feel like you are the only thing poppin' the sex is great and he has awesome pillow talk. He makes you feel like he knows EVERYTHING about you and that kind of attention makes you feel so important. On the other had ,it takes him about a month to stop taking you out, you only see him at night , and when he calls you it's to see if you can do something for him. Even though you see all these things for example the midnight phone call from random people that may or may not be his mom or his gay homegirl, strange cars in the parking lot,or constant ass watching when you take him out ( HE WON'T TAKE YOU OUT SO YOU MIGHT as WELL)!!! If this sound like you odds are you are with a DIRTY BIRD.... I grabbed this off line .... the pattern of a BAD BOY read the blue txt

He is good to her
He is attentive and demonstrates caring
He is possibly even
romantic
He takes her to bed
He takes a nap
He becomes abusive: emotionally, verbally, physically
He treats her badly
He is inattentive and could care less about her
He goes his own way and does what he wants to do, when he wants to do it, and who he wants to do it with
He needs sex again
He begins to be good to her again
He is attentive and demonstrates caring
He is possibly even romantic

He takes her to bed
I know it's hard, I've gone through this before . You know for a long time that I should say no but, it hard to find men ( THAT'S AN EXCUSE) lol I don't even really know if I want to try any longer. So today I made a conscience effort to just not be available (TWO POINTS FOR ROS AND A GOLD STAR). On of the things the articles on bad boys said (YES I RESEARCHED IT) is that most women who date bad boys are very insecure. I know that I'm not but in this last year I've increasingly became so .I have even questioned my beauty and strength. Well no more, no more disrespect, no more insecurity , no more great sex ( DARN !!!! LOL) and ultimately no more DIRTY BIRDS......
break the cycle!!
Thanks for listening...

RECIPE OF THE DAY!!!!!

OMG,I soooo gonna try this tomorrow. Of course for budget sake I'm gonna tweak it.

Ingredients
Serves 4
3 tablespoons vegetable oil, such as safflower (O.K. so I'm not using that vegetable oil will work fine)
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
2 red bell peppers (ribs and seeds removed), chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, chopped (Once again canned garlic)
1 teaspoon dried oregano ( UMMM I'm sure the stuff in the shaker will work wonders i found some for .99 ant cvs)
Coarse salt and ground pepper
1 package (10 ounces) frozen cut okra
8 ounces smoked (precooked) andouille sausage, halved lengthwise and sliced 1 inch thick
1 rotisserie chicken (about 2 1/2 pounds), skin and bones removed, meat shredded (about 4 cups) ( you can grab and already rotisserie chicken at walmart)
Store-bought or homemade cornbread, for serving (optional) ( JIFFY MIX YUMMO)

Directions
In a 5-quart Dutch oven or heavy-bottomed pot, heat oil over medium. Add flour, and cook, whisking constantly, until pale golden, 5 to 7 minutes. Stir in bell peppers, onion, garlic, and oregano; season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are crisp-tender, 10 to 12 minutes.
Add 4 cups water; stir in okra and sausage. Bring to a boil. Stir in shredded chicken, and warm through, 1 to 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper; if desired, serve with cornbread.

YOU KNOW WHAT REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS!!

I absolutely love love love to eat.... I hang out with my girlfriends or whoever and go to some really nice reasonable priced eateries in the city..... About a week ago I went to this new spot on Edgewood called Cafe' Circa (that's where I watched the election) . ANYWAY!!!! we got there and immediately put our name on the list for a table the place was packed and understandable we had about an hour and a half. We went to the bar to grab the first round of drinks chatted and watched the election. ummmmmm no phone call from the hostess sooooo we grabbed another round. No call but the freakin tables we still of people sitting there WITH NO FOOD . Damn I know that we are watching an election and no one should get mad but we were trying to eat, it is a restaurant . So that's what grinds my gears when people have no consideration for others . If I were the waitress or hostess i would have told people there was a 1hr wait at each table especially if they weren't eating. I can almost bet that the wait staff didn't make as much money as they could have if they had set this standard.

CHECK IT OUT!!!

I know that I love fashion and all that jazz but, i'm have added some of my favorite blogs to the page . They are mostly about home decore. Check it out and, I will be adding more soon ,there are some great ones out there.

MY NEW THING

I love mascara and doing my eyes so I have a new thing NEW EXACT EYELIGHTS MASCARA by covergirl .I tried it out for the first time on my girls nightout weekend and i love it. I have very dark brown eyes so anything that will make them look FABULOUS I try to grab it up. You can go to covergirl.com to checkout the product and some of the testimonials. I was surprised to see it have some bad review but there were a few positive ones...... The most common was the fact that it was in a small tube and some people said that it was just as good as their old mascara. I would recommend only using it on a special night out....and the product only compares it to bare lashes.

Just wanna say....

I'm proud to be apart of this historic point in my relationship as a citizen of the united states....... I never thought this would happen sooooo soon. I shared this moment with a few people that I love and I'm so glad to have been apart of it. Obama getting in to office gives ALL Americans hope that we can over come everything we put our mind to. I have more hope that I will achieve all my dreams and aspirations. I so happy and thankful for this OBAMA win and I'm praising GOD for everything he has helped us achieve..

SEX ED!!!!!

Lately I've been seeing lots of sex talk on television . People have been asking for tips on how to have better sex, find their g-spot and how to please there partner in bed. Though it doesn't take much to get me going I'm not that easily turned on . I tend to do a better job of it then the person that I'm sleeping with but honestly the sex is always great because of the mental preparation. I know this may sound like I'm telling my business but I want your feed back WE may help someone else have a better sex life and this is my blog and I can do what I want......... Just some mental trick i use while preparing for sex .I may have a really hot shower , that tends to get my blood flowing anyone that knows me knows that I love taking HOT HOT HOT showers and often. After my shower I usually drench myself with body oil and or ask my mate to do it along with a quick massage. Dirty talk works wonders and using your imagination. It's not cheating to fantasies I'm guilty of it. I've though about the best sex ever or maybe someone famous or you best fantasy situation.Another thing that i love to do and it gets me going quick is kissing. After you shower and your are all warm and cozy let you partner give you a 10 second kiss. Just use you lips and kiss.OH YEAH!!!!!! Ultimatley the best sex advice I can give is DO YOUR KEIGALS keep those muscles nice and strong and you can take anything thrown at you lol. ANYWAY...... don't take my word for it... COSMO alway has great sex tips , here's one of my favorite links......click here please http://www.cosmopolitan.com/sex-love/sex/favorite-sex-tips-positions.

YOU GO GREEN GIRL....

Whith the Economy in such limbo and the madness of the up and coming election . I haven't heard much about GOING GREEN. if you are an Eco -friendly Greener like me you want to go as green as possible for the Holidays..

Here are a list of great gift ideas for that special someone in you life.
Pet Lover
- donation to their local ASPCA
Food Lover
-glass storage containers
-glass method home for the holiday kit
Person who has everything

- and a travel mug to put in.
you can find more ideas @http://www.treehugger.com/giftguide

Here are some ideas on how to go green for the holidays.
Step1SAVE ENERGY: We can start saving energy with our Christmas lights. There are now solar Christmas lights available for outdoor decorating. So if you just have to have the house done in lights, why not try solar lights, plus they will automatically turn themselves on and off so that you don't have to mess with them. Keep your eyes open for new energy saving holiday decorations.
Step2PAPER: Save on paper this holiday season starting with your Christmas cards. Instead of sending snail mail Christmas cards; send everyone on your list an e-mailed Christmas card. It will save your the stamp and the trouble of stopping at the post office. Simply call everyone on your list and get their e-mail address to send them a holiday card. Also don't want spend crazy cash on all of tha holiday paper recycle your brown paper bags and use eco-friendly pant to decorate the outside.
Step3GIVE GREEN: This year give a greener gift to your friends and family. You could make them gifts or buy green gifts online. Search for "green Christmas gifts" online to find websites and ideas for giving green this year

WHAT'S FOR DINNER.

OK so one of my favorite things to do is entertain. I like to cook but i don't because fast food is so easy. Well because I'm on this new diet I'm starting to cook a little more. I tried out this great new recipe that I got from Martha Stewart.com. I really didn't think it would be that good but, YUMMY!!!!!! Here goes.......

Ingredients
Serves 6
1 pound linguine
1 pound turkey sausage, casings removed
6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
4 yellow (or red) bell peppers, thinly sliced
4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons arugula, torn
Coarse salt and ground pepper, for seasoning

Directions
1.Cook linguine. Drain, reserving 1 1/2 cups pasta water; return pasta to pot.

2. Meanwhile, cook sausage and 2 tablespoons water in a large covered nonstick skillet over medium until fat renders, 5 minutes. Uncover; raise heat to medium-high. Brown sausage, breaking it up with a spoon, 7 minutes.

3.Add garlic, bell peppers, and 1/4 cup reserved pasta water; cook until peppers soften, 6 minutes. Add 3/4 cup pasta water and butter; swirl to combine.

4.Transfer to pot. Add arugula; season with salt and pepper. Toss; add more pasta water as desired. Serve.

The recipe was very easy I just changed a few things . Instead of adding the arugula i made a spinach and Roma tomato salad. Also instead of fresh garlic I used canned because i already had some and finally I didn't used course salt and pepper i just used table salt and pepper. Add your favorite bottle of wine great convo and a old movie and you have a cool dinner party that only cost you 20 bucks tops
